Replace Your Morning Cup Of Joe With Matcha For Results That Show

Nellie Ryan

What is matcha? Matcha is a green powder that is derived from a certain type of green tea leaves that are specifically grown, nurtured, and harvested in a way to preserve the natural catechins and antioxidants found in green tea. Matcha is showing up everywhere from health food stores to coffee shops, and it is not without reason. If you commonly swing by the local Starbucks for a cup of joe in the morning, it could be well worth trading in your grande java for a cup of matcha instead. Here is a look at some of the results you will see by doing just that.

Skip the caffeine spike and slump that comes along with drinking coffee.

Every coffee drinker has been there. You slurp down your coffee for a quick push of caffeinated energy that is short-lived and leaves you in a lump by the early afternoon. Matcha is caffeinated, but far less than coffee. Plus, the caffeine in matcha gets absorbed slower into the body, so the caffeine buzz is not so instantaneous and quickly disappearing. This is because match has a little component called L-theanine that changes how the body absorbs and uses the natural caffeine in the tea.

Avoid the coffee breath and yellowed teeth that are a natural result of coffee drinking.

You drink up that coffee in the morning and ht the office with breath that smells like a coffee bean and a telltale yellowed smile. Coffee is pretty notorious for staining your teeth, but matcha is much different. This green tea concoction actually contains anti-bacterial compounds that can help your teeth instead of encouraging yellowness and tarter development. Plus, the tea helps cleanse your mouth of the bacteria that can make your breath smell bad in the first place and even sooth irritated soft tissue in your mouth because of its anti-inflammatory EGCG  (epigallocatechin gallate) components.

Find a new way to energize that is good for your body besides with coffee.

Coffee is the go-to morning drink primarily because it helps provide energy with its high caffeine content. However, the powerful components found in matcha deliver a powerful punch of energy without all the caffeine. Rich in antioxidants, matcha EGCG, and other health-and-brain-boosting ingredients, matcha helps you feel better emotionally and physically when you are dragging your way to work in the morning. You may feel an improved mood, more energetic, and even a greater sense of focus with matcha.

About Me
Over 50? Keeping Up With Your Healthcare Needs

As an adult in my 50s, I find that my body isn't as strong as it used to be. But I don't let that stop me from enjoying life! In fact, I make every effort to get the treatments I need from my doctor to improve my health. I know that I'm not a senior yet, but I do all I can to prevent the health problems that affect that age group. Because of this, I put together a health blog for people over age 50. My blog isn't a review of what you can easily find on the Internet. It's a plethora of unique information designed to help you find the services you need fast. What my blog doesn't do is tell you what to do for your health. Instead, it offers guidance and options. Please, enjoy the blog and happy reading.
